About Robert Thompson
My background after leaving the Navy was varied. I started off in Computer systems with the Burroughs Company, and then had an offer to work as one of 4 specialist Engineers for Technicon Industrial Systems out of New York. After the sale of the company to a Fortune 500 company, I left and found myself back in Southern Missouri and ended up working for PBS, and yes that was a radical change, but very satisfying.
I also delved into a little Theater, not acting, but stage work and directing.
You know, sometimes it is a struggle to work in the arts, the pay is not always what it needs to be, but from a creative side, it is so satisfying.
So when I was offered a position in Healthcare, and being able to eat on a regular basis, and make rent, I started a long career, of which I still enjoy today. Today I work as s Facility Director and troubleshooter for Hospital's and have been doing this for some decades now. This has allowed me to be from the West Coast to the East Coast and a lot in between. In my role in Healthcare I have worked in Code Compliance at local, State and National levels which has kept me busy.
Today you can find me in Annapolis Maryland, working at the hospital. Living just out side the Naval Academy, (Yeah I know, go figure), and working on my 36 foot Trojan., which has now morphed into a 51 foot Ketch the "Sea Trek".Stop by say hi.
But..... Some of the background on the stories
I joined the Navy to get an education and see the world, and did I ever. I lived in Gaeta Italy, traveled North Africa, climbed the pyramids and walked the Casbah. Visited the Blue Mosque, and the market in Istanbul.
Was lucky enough to have had high tea with a Constable and his family in Queens-ferry Scotland, Refereed Basketball in Bergen Norway, and Shot pistols against the Yugoslavian Olympic team in Split. As it turned out, one of our team members was a CIA agent stationed with us, and you will find a reference to the position in the second book.
Its interesting what happens in life.
In book three, I put the team back in the States with an investigation into high Tech disappearing from the Proving grounds in Maryland, just outside of DC. That area is a great place to be in the summer time and if you are from the area you will recognize many sites that will be used.
So, when a nuclear backpack goes missing and the Teams are pulled in to save the day, as well as find the bad guys before everything is ruined, the Team is pushed to the extreme.
Book 4 will take the team back to the mid east, where a regime change will cause major headaches at a base, and when a Navy ship is attacked and Sunk, the team has to act fast before the loss of life goes through the roof.

Today, I still work in Healthcare, and presently enjoy the water and boats in the heart of the Navy in Annapolis Maryland. I hope you enjoy the stories and feel free to let me know. More info in the thoughts page about me.
